Only those who enjoy social ice dancing can ask a stranger to do the Dutch Waltz on a public session and end up having great fun!
Today, I asked Bill to do a Dutch Waltz and we ended up doing the Canasta Tango next, followed by the Fiesta Tango, Willow Waltz, American Waltz, Cha Cha, HIckory Hoedown, Golden Skaters Waltz, Baby Blues, and about 10 patterns of the Swing Dance!
So much fun!
I have decided that the adventures of a figure skating family are so very entertaining. The entire world needs to know the ups and downs, and the joys related to ice skating. As often as possible I will update this blog with my figure skating family's unusual and unique day to day ice skating adventures!

Reunion With My First Ice Dance Partner Corey Isenberg! 12-13-17
My very first ice dance partner was Corey Isenberg. I was only 13 years old and he was 21.
Corey doesn't skate anymore, but we couldn't resist taking some photos together in Kilian and Foxtrot position! Also, Corey's voice is on a lot of ice dance CDs since he has had a lifetime hobby of putting ice dance music together, and we heard his voice announcing the American Waltz on the session I skated!

Julia and Joel - 11-21-17
Our close friend Julia Nance has toured with a different Disney On Ice show than my son Joel for the past 3 1/2 years. On Tuesday 11-21-17, Julia drove from her home in Asheville, North Carolina to Greenville, South Carolina especially to see Joel!

Annabelle Passed the Yankee Polka! 11-12-17
Annabelle Schneider-Farris passed her 8th International Ice Dance, the Yankee Polka, on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Now, she only has two more International ice dances to go until she passes all 10 International Ice Dances and earns US Figure Skating Gold Medal NUMBER SEVEN!
I'm "one very proud mom" and so excited and happy!
This is a timely tribute to the late Jim Sladky who invented the dance with Judy Schwomeyer.
Thanks to Quinn Chambers for partnering her through the test and to coach Tiffany Hyden-Dombeck.
