Joel and Disney On Ice Frozen Cast at Akiu Waterfall! 7-10-16

It looks like my son Joel and the cast of Disney On Ice Frozen spent a wonderful day off 7-10-16 at the Akiu Waterfall in Sendai, Japan! I am so happy for this hard working cast!

 

Fashions For Athletes' Chong Greene is Still Making Amazing Skating Outfits!

 I received this update below from Schonda Yamry on July 8, 2016.   I am so glad to hear from Schonda (who taught skating with me at the Ice Arena at Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs from 1998 to 2006) and I highly recommend Chong's beautiful skating outfits to those who need custom made skating clothes made in Colorado Springs!

Fashions for Athletes, the purple house on South Tejon Street in Colorado Springs, Colorado, did close; however, my mom, Chong Greene, is still making her amazing skating outfits out of her home!

Some people may think she "quit", but on the contrary, she just moved the business and all of her stock to her house. She is in fact still in business. She works by appointment only, thus specializing in custom orders, but does still have plenty of in stock fabric, outfits, tights, beads, crystals, etc.

The shop phone # is the same (719-633-4649) and now it rings to Mom's cell phone which she always has on her.

Chong works out of her house, so she asks that people call to make an appointment; however, with that said, she does make appointments at their convenience a lot of the time and sometimes even late at night.

Reunion with former US ice dancing champion and world and Olympic figure skating coach Peter Betts! - 7-5-16

Yesterday, I reunioned with former US ice dancing champion and world and Olympic figure skating coach Peter Betts! (I'm going to help him write a book that includes his memories of what he learned from Gus Lussi, Cecilia Colledge, Maribel Vinson, and other figure skating greats from the past!

Peter grew up in Boston and has so many wonderful stories to tell about his days of training there at the Skating Club of Boston and also about his summers in Lake Placid.

He told me he has gold medals in singles, pairs, and dance!  Totally incredible!

Joel Heads Off to Japan! 6-24-16

Today, June 24, 2016, my son Joel left for his 3rd year touring with Disney On Ice Frozen! They will perform all over Japan for the next three months. He returns home to Colorado for a short time (before going to Europe and England and Australia and New Zealand) on September 27. I gave my son a huge hug good-bye. I'm so proud of him. What an adventure he has ahead!
